The sale of Auckland-based curtain-maker Moller Textiles to Designer Textiles (NZ) has been called a "well-timed synergy" by manager Phillip Moller.
Mr Moller said his company would benefit from the "larger platform" that Designer Textiles could provide, especially in the wider Australasian curtain market.
Mollers, a privately-owned knit and curtain manufacturing company, has been owned and operated by the Moller family since 1972 and employs more than 100 people.
Designer Textiles' managing director Kerry Harding said there would be no redundancies at Mollers' North Shore plant, despite moves to rationalise manufacturing and administrative costs. "Mollers will be able to expand their manufacturing capacity without needing a lot of capital ... it's a great opportunity for both companies." - Dita De Boni
