The little girl whose dad wanted to know if she was looking after herself has grown up to be the face for budget lingerie.
Recently retired Silver Ferns netball captain Bernice Mene is fronting the advertising campaign for Bendon brand e-sensual, a range that offers $9.99 briefs and $19.99 bras.
She is unlikely to be seen again in the role of daddy's little girl in the McCain's Healthy Choice campaign, which was created five years ago but was so popular it has been dusted off regularly since.
The e-sensual campaign, set to run for at least a year, is based around the theme "Work, Work and Play."
Mene's face will appear on billboards, in store promotions and even on product swingtags.
Television advertisements, which began last night, follow her going for a morning jog, giving a business presentation, shopping for lingerie and playing a social game of netball.
E-sensual lingerie, says Mene in the commercials, are "part of my life".
Company general manager Sue Dunmore says Mene is perfect for the brand, being active, professional and successful.
