McKenna halts bankruptcy application

One of New Zealand's most prominent developers, Nigel McKenna, has stopped a bankruptcy application being made against him.

McKenna of Melview Developments is now opposing The Fletcher Construction Co's application over money it claims he owes for Wellington's huge Holiday Inn Hotel.

McKenna's business developed the hotel which Fletcher built.

The case went before the High Court at Auckland this morning and has now been set down for a hearing on March 21.
