KEY POINTS:
The New Zealand dollar slipped back against the US dollar this morning after rising through the US60c level overnight.
The kiwi was buying US59.46c at 8am, compared with US59.69c at 5pm yesterday after ranging between US59.32c and US60.33c overnight.
The kiwi gained against its aussie counterpart to A83.23c at 8am from A82.67c at 5pm, but lost ground against other major currencies. It was buying 0.4357 euro at 8am (from 0.4413 euro at 5pm), 39.24 pence (40.01p) and 55.15 yen (56.00 yen).
Its overall value on the trade weighted index fell to 57.98 at 8am from 58.40 at 5pm.
