Oceana Gold reported an unaudited net profit of US$40.1 million ($61.5 million) in the past three months compared with a net loss of US$19.2 million for the same period last year.
The miner has gold mines in Otago and on the West Coast and a stalled project in the Philippines.
Oceana Gold New Zealand's operations achieved gold sales of 75,319 ounces for the second quarter, slightly ahead of expectations. The average price per ounce was US$730, up 9.3 per cent on the previous three months.
