KEY POINTS:
Gold exploration company Glass Earth Gold has appointed Simon Henderson as president and chief executive.
He was a founding shareholder and had occupied the roles of chief operating officer and vice-president exploration since the listing of Glass Earth in March 2005, the company said.
It said Henderson, who lives in Wellington, was a geologist with more than 30 years' experience in the gold mining and exploration industry.
The company said Glenn Laing, who was part of the team that listed Glass Earth, had resigned as president and chief executive.
"Glass Earth has now reached a stage in the development of its strategy and operations that a full-time New Zealand-based CEO and president is necessary to take the company to the next level," the company said.
John Dow, a non-executive director of the company since March 2006 and a geologist with 40 years' international experience, had been appointed non-executive chairman.
Glass Earth shares last traded at 17c, having been as high as 25c in late March and down to 13c earlier this month.
