The owner of New Zealand's Macraes goldmine, OceanaGold, has appointed Nick Franey as its vice-president of exploration.
Franey is a geologist who was most recently vice-president of exploration with Anvil Mining. He had also started exploration for the company in the Philippines.
OceanaGold's chief executive Steve Orr said: "Nick's experience working in both greenfield and brownfield exploration projects throughout Asia-Pacific and Africa adds significant depth to OceanaGold's exploration team."
The company operates the Macraes and Reefton gold mines in the South Island.
