KEY POINTS:
David Caygill, who became chairman of the Electricity Commission in October, has been appointed as an associate member of the Commerce Commission, effective from January 1.
"David Caygill returns to the Commerce Commission, having until recently been its deputy chair," Commerce Minister Lianne Dalziel said.
"His appointment will continue the coordination and communication between the Commerce and Electricity Commissions, particularly with regard to electricity regulation."
