KEY POINTS:
Maersk Line has appointed a 33-year veteran of the container industry to head its New Zealand operations. He is Julian Michael Bevis, who for the past two years headed Maersk's Indian Line and Operations business.
Bevis previously held a number of senior management positions with P&O Nedlloyd, which was acquired by Maersk in 2005.
Late last year Maersk Line announced that it would be overhauling its organisational structure, meaning that Maersk New Zealand, previously part of the Oceania region managed out of Sydney, will from late this year be part of the newly formed Asia-Pacific region.
