Up to 45 jobs could be lost in Rotorua as Kaingaroa Timberlands cuts back on its harvesting levels.
Between 15 and 25 management staff and two contracting crews of about eight to 10 people each will be made redundant by early October.
Chief executive Philip Langston said a drop in the amount of pruned logs being purchased was to blame.
