A liquor licence for World Cup breakfasts at Eden Park is being sought from an authority given emergency powers for the tournament.
The application, made to the Rugby World Cup Authority, is open to submissions for a week until July 26.
The application seeks a licence to serve alcohol between 7am and 1pm on days when there was no match, among other conditions for the tournament period.
Eden Park Trust marketing manager Tracy Morgan said the licence would allow for "champagne breakfasts" for corporate sponsors in function rooms.
Eden Park Neighbours Association president Mark Donnelly said his biggest concern about the application was traffic potentially clogging the neighbourhood's streets from early in the morning.
