A team of lawyers were yesterday in the Court of Appeal arguing one of the country's most significant leaky building battles.
Justice William Young is presiding over the cases being brought by North Shore City Council against body corporates of two North Shore apartment complexes.
At issue is whether High Court rulings the body corporates won against the council should be upheld or overturned.
Matt Josephson of Auckland law firm Grimshaw & Co is working with other lawyers representing the apartment owners. David Goddard, QC, is representing the council.
Apartment blocks affected are in Byron Ave, Takapuna, where 12 of the block's 14 owners are taking action, and the larger Sunset Terraces in Mairangi Bay.
