What did your parents do and did that play a big part in your career choice?
My parents being farmers or ranchers [Fellet grew up on a ranch in Arizona] was a big influence in the sense that the work was so hard that I wanted to get a job sitting behind a desk.
In the end they wanted me to do what I wanted. But they thought I spent too much time hanging around watching TV.
If you had followed a different career path, what might you be doing?
If I had not gone into television I would have still been drawn to business. I think I would have been a portfolio manager for an investor. I like the idea of looking at a company and trying to arbitrage value.
