KEY POINTS:
Commerce Minister Lianne Dalziel has welcomed an offer from lawyers to provide free advice to those caught up in the Blue Chip collapse.
Blue Chip New Zealand was put into liquidation in April leaving large numbers of investors out of pocket.
Since then the Companies Office has set up a freephone line to help Blue Chip victims.
Ms Dalziel today said members of the property law section of the New Zealand Law Society had offered to give an hour's free advice to people who had lost money as a result of the Blue Chip collapse.
The offer follows members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants also offering to provide some advice free of charge.
The freephone number is 0508 197 510.
