KFC will try out partial table service at its new $2.2 million Silverdale store north of Auckland.
Brent Kitto, the chain's general manager, said a table service pilot scheme was run in Lower Hutt where customers could order at the counter and the food was brought to the table.
That same service would be offered at the Silverdale Centre, a $50 million 35-shop complex.
KFC opens there on Saturday.
The new Silverdale store, which has created 38 new jobs, was also quite different to other KFCs, Kitto said. "We've changed the queuing systems and installed in-store and drive-through digital menu panels which are easy to read."
