Outdoor clothing and equipment retailer Kathmandu has appointed the boss of its Rip Curl brand to lead the company.
Michael Daly replaces former CEO and managing director Xavier Simonet following his departure from the dual ASX/NZX listed company.
Daly has been the chief executive of Rip Curl for eight years. The company is now in the process of finding a replacement to lead the surf brand.
In a NZX announcement, Kathmandu chairman David Kirk said after an extensive search for a new group CEO and managing director the company had chosen Daly.
"Michael has led Rip Curl for eight years with a relentless focus on brand, product, people and the bottom line and we are confident he will bring the same focus and energy to the wider group," Kirk said in a statement.
