A judge has rejected a serial fraudster's 11th hour bid to vacate his plea of guilty at the Hamilton District Court.
Matthew John Young, 45, will be sentenced on Friday after admitting 13 charges in April, including using a document, obtaining by deception and knowingly being a party to a company with intent to defraud creditors.
His victims included members of the public, Genesis and Telecom (Spark), with the offending taking place in Hamilton and Auckland between 2011 and 2013.
Judge Noel Cocurullo dismissed the defendants' appeal, which was lodged on Thursday.
"Mr Young's ambush tactics... were a complete abuse of the court process, and his applications had little merit and were no more than a delay tactic," Judge Cocurullo said.
