Japan will propose an economic partnership agreement with 16 Asian nations that will include free-trade provisions and seek to protect intellectual property rights, a Government official says.
Japan will present its proposal later this month at an Asean meeting.
The 16 countries include the 10 Asean member states and Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, India and New Zealand.
