Iwi bid for forests

A multi-iwi consortium called Nga Tahi has thrown its hat in the ring to buy Carter Holt Harvey's forests in the Bay of Plenty.

Nga Tahi chairman Erueti Koopu said most CHH forestry in the area was on land leased from Maori.

"Our consortium is best placed to deal with the complexities involved."
