KEY POINTS:
Mike Reynolds, who wrote the television advertisement for the Nestle Milky Bar Kid and who founded a centre for parrot conservation in Cornwall, has died aged 76.
The Milky Bar Kid was, according to the jingle, "tough" and "strong". He "couldn't go wrong", and had an unlimited supply of the white chocolate bars which were always "on me".
Away from advertising, Reynolds developed his passion for parrots. He established Paradise Park in 1973, and built it into a leading tourist attraction.
He set up the World Parrot Trust in 1989, and launched a campaign to end the importing of wild parrots by EU countries for the pet trade.
