Leading wood products firms have teamed up with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise to showcase wood products to key players in China.
The firms, including Carter Holt Harvey and Weyerhaeuser, yesterday opened a centre in Shanghai, promoting innovative ways wood can be used in furniture, apartments and construction technologies.
NZTE hopes the centre will perform multiple functions, including information exchange with the Chinese industry and delivering education programmes for people in the wood and housing sectors.
NZTE's wood, building and interiors sector director, Peter Ryan, says the partners in the centre provide a comprehensive view of this country's strengths in wood products.
