Infratil has appointed Australian Steven Fitzgerald as the new chief executive of Glasgow's Prestwick Airport.
Fitzgerald, 36, who will take over in the New Year, is the general manager, airport operations, at Sydney Airport Corp.
One of his roles will be to arrest a decline in freight volumes. Operating earnings from the Scottish airport for the six months to the end of September were £2.2 million ($5.88 million), down from £3 million the year before. Passenger numbers were up 17 per cent, but freight volumes down 17 per cent.
