AMP Capital Investors has a "highly articulate" fixed-income team that conveys its processes in a manner that provides confidence to clients, the judges said.
Grant Hassell, AMP Capital's head of fixed income, said the business had undergone significant change over the past year. The award was the result of the passion and enthusiasm of his colleagues on the fixed-income team, Warren Potter and Vicky Hyde-Smith. "Thank you also to the banks and brokers who help us on a daily basis."
The judges said AMP Capital's fixed-income team was well-rounded, with members contributing complementary skills.
ANZ Investments and Nikko Asset Management were the other finalists. The winner is decided primarily by assessing medium-term New Zealand asset performance, the quality and consistency of staff, and the processes they employ.
