What was your first car?
Stanners says his first car was a Toyota Corolla hatchback - part of his package at his first job after university at IBM.
"During my schooling and university I rode motorbikes. I had a Yamaha XJ750 which the week I bought it was the fastest motorbike in its class racing around the world. About three weeks later the Kawasaki ZK750 was faster, which was a bit of a bummer. But, yeah, I had a pretty mean bike - I had lots of them but that was the one I rode round varsity."
Stanners convinced his mother a motorbike was a good idea because of the money saved on fuel - cash that was spent on paying speeding tickets, he admits.
What do you drive now?
"Now I've got a VW Golf - gotta look after the planet. You can fit three kids in the back, you just can't take anything else with you."
