Local clean technology developer LanzaTech has been named one of the hottest companies in bioenergy and renewable chemicals by Biofuels Digest, a respected industry website in the United States.
LanzaTech chief executive Jennifer Holmgren said the firm, whose microbe technology converts industrial waste gases into ethanol and other valuable chemicals, made it to number three on the list of the "50 Hottest Companies in Bioenergy".
The firm also made number seven on the list of the "30 Hottest Companies in Renewable Chemicals".
Holmgren said the Biofuels Digest lists are selected and ranked by subscribers to the website, an international panel of industry chief executives, reporters, trade association leaders and scientists.
"I think the LanzaTech team has done a great job moving the ball forward on all fronts - scale, chemicals, new gas streams and bringing in world-class partners," she said.
