The former home of the late television and radio broadcaster Sir Paul Holmes failed to sell at tender but there is still a lot of buyer interest.
Tenders closed early last month for the purchase of Mana Lodge, the Hawkes Bay boutique hospitality and events centre.
Mana Lodge was the site of Sir Paul's investiture two weeks before his death in February 2013. He and Lady Deborah Holmes were also married at the property, which they bought in 2000.
Gary Wallace of Bayleys, who is marketing the property, said it is hoped a sale deal will soon be sealed.
"We have been pleased with the level of buyer interest and someone is particularly interested," he said. "It is a beautiful property which we are happy to sell at a level that would work for the trustees."
