KEY POINTS:
Industrial services and distribution firm Rakino Group, which owns Hirepool, has bought East Bay Hire in Whakatane.
Last July, Australian private equity investor Next Capital bought Hirepool for $172 million and has invested more than $45 million to support Hirepool's growth. Hirepool has opened shops in Gisborne and Whangarei and now has 71 units in New Zealand.
