A month after securing a new owner, hire equipment company Hirepool has snapped up Christchurch's Port-a-Loo business and Davies Hire in Auckland.
Managing director Tenby Powell said both businesses were strategic targets.
Powell said Davies Hire was one of the few remaining independent general rental hire businesses between central Auckland and the city's western suburbs.
He said the hire market, estimated to be worth $25 million a year, continued to show strong growth. The existing management and staff at both acquisitions will be retained.
