Business Herald reporter Helen Twose won the Telecommunications Journalist of the Year prize at the 2011 TUANZ Innovation Awards in Auckland last night.
The event, organised by the Telecommunications Users Association, has been running for 20 years.
They are the only awards in New Zealand to recognise excellence and innovation in the New Zealand telecommunications sector.
The judges commented that Twose demonstrated a knowledge of the telecommunications industry, the personalities of major players and demonstrated the ability to convey this to readers.
Herald technology columnist Anthony Doesburg was also a finalist in the category.
2degrees scooped up key awards, taking away Mobile Service Provider of the Year and Telecommunications Carrier of the Year.
SNAP internet won internet Service Provider of the Year.
