As part of its reinvention, McDonalds has had to go out of its way to attract its customers back to its stores, from improved "artisan" burgers and all-day breakfasts to fancy in-store interactive menus.
Now it will even go as far as your doorstep to delivery its famous staples. Already underway in Australia, the McDelivery service has been registered in New Zealand, Fairfax reported.
Although it's not yet available as an option on the company's website the new logo has made an appearance on the Government's Intellectual Property Office's register of trademarks this month; the image is of a golden McDonald's arch zipping along on a skateboard.
It's just the latest attempt by the fast-food behemoth to stand out in the burgeoning New Zealand market and won't be the last.
Already there are home delivery services, such as Menulog, where customers can order online and have top-end burgers delivered to their home.
