Hanover Finance says it is co-operating with various regulatory authorities and their information requests.
The statement, released by Chapman Tripp lawyer Roger Wallis on behalf of independent Hanover director David Henry, came a week after the Securities Commission said it was close to making a decision about whether to lay criminal charges against Hanover's directors.
Asked whether the Serious Fraud Office was also investigating Hanover, chief executive Adam Feeley said he would "be making a comment on Monday".
The Securities Commission has said its members would meet before Christmas to decide whether criminal charges will be laid against directors of the company.
