SAN FRANCISCO - A US judge has ordered Google to face a jury trial in a trademark infringement suit that targets the workings of the web search leader's main source of revenue.
David Rammelt of Kelley Drye & Warren, lead attorney for plaintiff American Blinds, said US District Judge Jeremy Fogel had set November 9 for jury selection.
American Blind & Wallpaper Factory charged that Google abused trademarks by allowing rivals to buy ads that appeared when consumers search the web for information on a business.
Last month, Fogel dismissed parts of the complaint but allowed others, saying the public had an interest in whether AdWords, Google's pay-per-click advertising, violates US trademark law.
