Google says it has bought the restaurant-review service Zagat.
It comes as the internet search leader is trying to help people connect with local businesses and sell ads to local merchants in the process.
In a blog post, Google said Zagat "will be a cornerstone of our local offering".
Zagat offers reviews and ratings on restaurants around the world, based largely on surveys of diners.
