State-owned energy retailer, Genesis Energy, today said it was offering free energy saving advice to help medium to large sized businesses save power.
Genesis, with the support of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), will undertake energy surveys for large business customers.
Genesis chief executive Murray Jackson said the surveys would allow a firm to identify quick and easy ways to save energy immediately and secondly, would encourage businesses to make changes that would allow long-term reductions in energy use.
Mr Jackson said Genesis would approach large customers and offer the services of an independent energy auditor, approved by the Energy Management Association.
"Genesis is aware that the introduction of just a few energy saving tips or devices within industry could reap rewards not only for the business concerned, but for the country as a whole," he said.
The surveys will begin in May and be completed by the end of June.
