NEW YORK (AP) Stock futures are mixed ahead of the release of delayed jobs figures that could provide the last solid glimpse at the health of the nation's job market this year.
Dow Jones industrial futures are up 2 points to 15,324. S&P futures have lost 1.1 points to 1,737.10. Nasdaq futures are up 1.25 points to 3,355.25.
The September jobs report has been delayed by 2 weeks due to the partial government shutdown, and will be released at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time. Some economists believe that job figures for the next two months will be skewed first by indirect job losses in the private sector tied to the shutdown, and then a sharp decline in unemployment applications as those people reported back to work.
The government will also report construction spending.
