It's not painting by numbers, but they have been the inspiration.
Accountancy, often derided as the preserve of grey men, has provided the source material for an art exhibition opening today at the University of Auckland's Business School.
Auckland painter Kristin Brown used her accountancy education to stimulate her art.
After finishing her four-year BCom (accounting, finances and tax), Brown spent another four years studying for her bachelor of visual arts.
Her new exhibition, "Visual Equations for the Year Ended ... ", runs until August 5 at Room 501, Level 5, Commerce C building in Symonds St.
She said: "Over time, I realised my passion was in creating art from accountancy formulas and images."
