Fonterra to buy icecream maker

Fonterra has reached a deal to buy premium icecream maker Kapiti Fine Foods - succeeding where billionaire Graeme Hart failed in 2003.

The agreement with Foodstuffs Wellington gives the dairy giant the rights to supply Pam's brand milk in the lower-North Island and production facilities in Palmerston North and Paraparaumu.
