Fonterra releases new range of snacks

Fonterra has taken another step into the snack foods market with a new range of "dairy protein crisps".

No relation to potato chips, the crisps look more like rice bubbles and are most commonly used in protein energy bars.

Fonterra said yesterday it had secured the rights to "protein extrusion technology" developed by US company Goodstar Foods.
