KEY POINTS:
Fonterra plans to add Bank of New Zealand chairman designate John Waller to its board of directors.
Fonterra chairman Henry van der Heyden said Waller, who has been a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers for more than 20 years, would chair the Fair Value Share Review Committee.
"John's extensive commercial advisory experience ... equips him very well to serve as Fonterra's new independent director," van der Heyden said.
Waller has been a member of the New Zealand Takeovers Panel since December 2006, was chairman of the Eden Park Redevelopment Board for the Rugby World Cup 2011 and has been a director of the BNZ since February, he said.
Fonterra said Waller's appointment was to be ratified by shareholders at the co-operative's annual meeting on November 26 and he would join the board early next year.
