Firm has wild rabbits in sights

Restaurant demand for rabbit meat has prompted a Blenheim company to go on a South Island-wide bunny hunt.

Premium Game has been advertising in Otago for people interested in supplying dead rabbits. Part-owner Allan Spencer says that despite rabbit haemorrhagic disease there still appears to be plenty of rabbits around.

The company is processing around 400 rabbits a week. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry inspects all rabbits before they are processed.
