Finnish engineering company Wartsila has won contracts for propulsion systems in the Navy's seven new ships.
Australia's Tenix Defence, which also built the Navy's Anzac frigates, is the main contractor for the Project Protector ships, which include a 131m multi-role vessel, two 85m offshore patrol vessels and four 55m inshore patrol vessels. The first will be delivered at the end of next year.
