KEY POINTS:
The St Laurence name will soon disappear from the top of the former Ports of Auckland building on the city's waterfront.
Kevin Podmore, the company's chairman, said ING Group had leased space in 139 Quay St at the city end of Princes Wharf, where St Laurence has had its name atop the distinctive office block for some years.
ING has taken a nine-year lease on a portion of the building and also has naming rights.
Meanwhile, ownership of a half-share in the Hilton Hotel at the seaward end of the wharf remains in play.
Podmore said this week he had plans for his stake in the building and would put a proposal to St Laurence investors in September.
Investors are yet to meet and vote on a proposal for 9000 debenture holders owed around $240 million to be repaid in instalments while receiving interest payments.
St Laurence has also entered an unconditional contract to sell Master Builders House on Wellington's Wakefield St for $12.5 million.
