The man who was ordered to remove his fence because it was blocking his neighbours' views of Wellington harbour is appealing the decision.
David Walmsley built a four-metre-high, 11-metre-long fence on his exclusive Maida Vale Rd property, to the chagrin of his neighbours, Peter and Sylvia Aitchison.
Wellington City Council communications staff Richard MacLean said he believed Walmsley filed for an appeal to the High Court yesterday afternoon.
The Environment Court decided last month that Mr Walmsley must remove his fence as it was blocking harbour views.
Mr Walmsley, a worker at the Wellington City Council, will now be fighting to keep his fence, taking the case before the High Court at Wellington.
