The State Services Commission will investigate whether the recent appointment of Finance Minister Bill English's brother to a senior Health Ministry policy advice job which was not advertised breached ministry rules.
Labour's state services spokesman, Grant Robertson, raised concerns about Mervyn English's appointment as a fixed-term employee to establish and co-ordinate a new "health sector forum".
