The Government collected $38.3 billion in tax revenue for the nine months to March 31, 0.7 per cent above forecast, Treasury figures show.
Direct tax of $25 billion was 1.5 per cent higher than forecast, while total indirect tax of $13.2 billion was 0.7 per cent below forecast.
Total tax revenue was 8.6 per cent ahead of the same period a year earlier. Tax receipts for the period of $37.4 billion were up 0.2 per cent on forecast, and 9.0 per cent above a year ago, the Treasury said.
