The Government collected $42.6 billion in tax revenue for the 10 months to April 30, 0.4 per cent above forecast, according to Treasury data out today.
The data, released on Treasury's website, showed direct tax of $27.9 billion was 0.7 per cent higher than forecast, while total indirect tax of $14.8 billion was 0.2 per cent below forecast.
Total tax revenue was 8.5 per cent ahead of the same period a year earlier.
Tax receipts for the period of $43.0 billion were up 0.6 per cent on forecast, and 9.9 per cent above a year ago, Treasury said.
