Motorists can expect to be hit in the pocket again at the petrol pumps, predicts a consumer expert.
Crude oil prices are on the rise, and closing in on the $70 a barrel mark.
Consumer's Institute chief David Russell said it is getting more expensive to get the oil out of the ground because the easy stuff has already been tapped.
He said there is no doubt motorists will be paying more soon.
Mr Russell said while motorists cannot do much about the escalating fuel prices, they can change their driving habits to save fuel.
