Former ASB bank chief executive Hugh Burrett has died.
Burrett was CEO of the bank from 2001 to 2008 and had a career of more than 40 years with the bank.
Barbara Chapman, current ASB chief executive, said Burrett achieved an enormous amount of success during his time with the bank.
"He had the unique distinction of joining the bank as a cadet and rising through the organisation, working across a range of different areas to eventually become chief executive."
She said Burrett helped transform ASB from a regional, retail bank into a nationwide, full-service operation.
