MELBOURNE: ANZ Banking Group has followed its three rivals in reducing fees on personal accounts but will abolish exception fees altogether only for recipients of government benefits.
ANZ said it would scrap dishonour, overdrawn, late payment and over-limit fees for benefit recipients who have the bank's Access Basic account only and will reduce overdrawn, dishonour and over-limit fees applying to all other customers.
