New Zealand slipped five places to 20th out of 58 economies measured on a world competitiveness scoreboard, a survey shows.
The Swiss business school International Institute for Business Development ranks countries on their ability to create and sustain enterprise competitiveness.
New Zealand dropped one place on infrastructure to 22nd, from 30th to 31st on economic performance and slipped from 21st to 22nd on business efficiency.
The government efficiency rating improved - from seventh to fifth place.
